Dr. Lin is a research scientist in the department of nutrition science and food hygiene at Xiangya school of Public Health, Central South University. Dr. Lin’s research interest are focused on the public health nutrition. She has developed several programs to promote the health status for the rural women and children, including “Nutrition Intervention for Preventing Iron Deficiency Anemia of the Rural Adolescents in Central and Western Region of China”, “Health Allowance for improving nutritional status and development of the 3-5y left-behind children in poor rural areas of China: a cluster randomized trial”, and “Evaluate the impact of folic acid education for rural women on the implementation of "Supplementing Folic Acid to Prevent NTD" program in rural village”. At Yale, Dr. Lin is working on developing an ethics training program for Chinese pediatricians. Her mentor is Dr. Kaveh Khoshnood.
Mentored Trainee Research Project (if any):Ethics in Pediatrics---a case-based training program
The purpose of this program is to improve the bioethics awareness and practice of pediatricians through a pilot training program in Xiangya hospital, Central South University. We will develop a bioethics curriculum and then implement a case-based training for these pediatric residents. Five workshops will be carried out for the trainees. The knowledge, attitude and practice related to ethics in pediatrics will be evaluated pre- and post-training. It will be a one-year program and will begin at April, 2016.
