Project: Research Ethics Training and Curriculum Development Program with China
Xing Liu is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Public Administration, Central South University, in Changsha.He is participating in a program for outstanding graduate students sponsored by the China Scholarship Council of the Chinese Ministry of Education. Mr. Liu’s primary interests are bioethics and neuroethics. His Ph.D. dissertation is based on research on the ethical issues associated with brain imaging technology. He participated in planning a project that carried out research on the bioethical and legal issues associated with modern medical technology. Supported by the Chinese Government, this project resulted in policy and regulations that are now followed by all hospitals in China. A second project, supported by Hunan Province, studied the ethical issues of brain imaging technology. Mr. Liu’s mentor is Dr. Robert Levine.
